Meet Dr. Colleen
Dr. Colleen Horn has been practicing in the Western Suburbs of Chicago for nearly 10 years. She is certified in prenatal and pediatric chiropractic, and in hormone health. She earned her CACCP in 2019 from the ICPA. She has also been certified since 2018 in the Schaefer Protocol which focuses on fertility and hormone work.
In chiropractic school at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, IA, Dr. Colleen began working on her pediatric certification, through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association. Before Dr. Colleen started her internship, she went on a clinic abroad trip to Manaus, Brazil. One of the most memorable moments from Dr. Colleen’s time in Brazil was when she gave an 8 month old his first adjustment. “The only thing I knew about little Leo was that he had a G-tube, or a feeding tube in his belly, and he was developmentally delayed. When Leo got his adjustment and his nervous system functioning, he gave me the biggest smile and it melted my heart. Being able to see his and so many others’ light burn brighter confirmed everything I had been working so hard to attain.”
Because of Dr. Colleen’s passion to help mothers and children, she has completed the 200- hour Certification by the ICPA’s Academy of Chiropractic Pediatrics (CACCP). This Certification includes advanced techniques, clinical studies, and protocols for children and mothers that aren’t included in chiropractic school. Because few people hold this certification, this allows Dr. Colleen to provide an even better service to all her patients.
After chiropractic school, Dr. Colleen met her husband, Greg and started their journey to have a family. Throughout her pregnancy, Dr. Colleen realized the lack of support women have in their holistic journey to create healthy families. Dr. Colleen is determined to give new families the information they need to make their journey’s as smooth as possible and what they want it to be. Every woman deserves the opportunity to have the pregnancy and give birth how they want to without judgement.
Dr. Colleen witnessed many of her friends suffer with infertility both emotionally and financially. Unfortunately, the rates of infertility are steadily increasing. Dr. Colleen experienced her own difficulty when she had a miscarriage between the births of her two children. Conceiving a baby naturally and easily was very important to Dr. Colleen. She knew there had to be more to fertility than chance. That is when she started doing the Schaefer Protocol for herself and her husband. Dr. Colleen’s biggest focus was making sure her body and her husband’s body were as healthy as possible. All of that hard work paid off with the unmedicated birth of her son Grayson. Dr. Colleen has since earned certification and Mastery ranking with the Schaefer Protocol so she can help others with hormone health and to have the families they dream of having.
